what brand of brakes

i have a 2004 2500 and was wondering what kind of brakes i should get. i do pull a 30 ft fifth wheel camper and a 25 ft horse trailer. i only pull them a few times a year but i want a set of good brakes so i do not have to worry about them fading from overheating. i was reccommended a set of ebc extreme duty for heavy towing but i do not do that much towing. i thought about the hawk lts any info would be a big help i have never replaced the brakes yet and was wanting some info before i do. the truck has 92,000 miles on it. thanks for the help

My father-in-law uses Wagner. He pulls a fifth wheel camper and cattle trailers as well. I personally don't do any pullin' except for a bass boat

Dodge premium brake pads are really good. so are Napa and carquest premium.(I think the same place makes them) I really loved my ebc green stuff pads until they wore out fast.

Others like Hawk too. Don't do ceramics when towing!

Go OEM! I have had nothing but trouble from anything I have tried other than the regular OEM pads from Dodge. I'm dealing with this issue right now where the dealer was going to rape me for OEMs so I opted for the Valu-Line pads. BIG MISTAKE! They squeak like crazy and it is driving me NUTS! I have tried the premium NAPA pads and had similar results.

I had the value line pads on my 05 hemi, one of them apparently had something in one of the pads, it actually scored the rotor. The dealer replaced the pads and the rotor. And they squeaked like hell..

I just replaced the pads on my 06 3500, I put in Performance Friction Carbon Metallic. I have about 2K on them so far, doing great, no squeak, low dust, stop well...got them at rotorsandpads.com, about $100 for both axles....

Factory OEM pads work great. That is what I will be putting back on.

My dealership wanted $175 for the OEM fronts!!!! That is utterly ridiculous! I had to pay almost $100 for the valu-lines! Again, ridiculous for a simple set of brake pads! I am working the he!! out of mine right now trying to make them wear faster so they may stop squeaking. It seems to be helping some but at a certain amount of brake pressure it is still there sometimes....

I upgraded mine and went with EBC pads AND rotors, these are SWEET! They may cost, but are well worth it! No sqeeks and even better stopping now, very lil fade...

Where are you guys buying your OEM pads from? Not too fond of giving the dealership any money when I can buy the exact same product online for less.

No problems at all with the NAPA premiums for the rears. haven't changed the fronts as of yet so for $50 the rears are just dandy. whole job took about an hour.

I had a similar experience with the mopar value line pads. Dealer said they were good, squeaked like hell and the backing plates ended up comming apart.

Went with the Dodge OEM pads, the expensive things and they have been flawless. I wouldn't waste my time with aftermarket pads as long as I could source the OEM's.
