What angle is the rear driveline supposed to be?

What angle is the rear driveline supposed to be?

My truck with all aftermarket products are in my signature. Since the truck is lifted, I want to make sure my rear driveline is at the correct angle. The blocks that came with the lift kit were not tappered. I installed a tappered set and the shudder right at take off is worse than it was. The driveline carrier bearing has been shimmed. I had almost all of the shudder gone after shimming the carrier bearing more. But I can't keep spending money on trial and error. If anyone has any input on what the angles are supposed to be then I can get the right parts..

I've got an 05 with 5.5 inch suspension. It shudders and pops on take off. I would guess it is because of the angle of the driveline. I see you added traction bars. Didn't help? That was one of my questions.

No, the traction bars didn't help with that. The traction bars were put on to stop the wheel hop when in the sand. Plus I think they look cool too....I was just reading, vehicle to be on level ground, no less than 1/2 degree and no more than 3 degrees at output yoke and rear input yoke....

If I were dealing with your truck I would get a 1-piece aluminum driveshaft, shim the axle/pinion nose up equal and opposite the TC output (brokeback) and install traction bars. That would solve it nicely as well as eliminate the expensive, problematic stock driveshaft setup.

Ace, any idea where to get a one piece aluminum driveshaft....Is there such an aftermarket product? I was thinking a one piece driveline too but didn't realize that there might be one available in the aftermarket industry. I'm think I would have to have one custom made and that could equal big bucks...

Nope, OEM. Dodge has been using them for the past couple years now, all aluminum. Finally ditched the 2-piece design. There's several threads on it around here, one long one with lots of part#s. There's like at least three different lengths, depending on the trans and body style and maybe a damper, IIRC. Cost anywhere from $3-$500 depending on which one you need and where you get it from. I think this is the one you need for a long bed auto:

52123220AB

At least that's the number I recorded when I thought I was gonna get one awhile back, then decided to wait...
