If you would have had caster set more positive it would have never happened again. The reason it happens on the newer trucks with few miles is because when a truck runs down the line and is aligned, its not very precise. This is why some trucks can have an issue with DW, and others don't. Big tires and lower air pressures can accelerate the problem, but don't cause it.

this is a stupid question but can someone post a pics of the front suspension showing me what the traction bar is, i think i know but just want to be sure.

i read somewhere that the front end/steering was upgraded to hopefully prevent this problem on 06 trucks. is this true?

The track bar, not traction, is the bar that goes from the frame to the axle and holds the axle in place, keeping it from having lateral movement. The drag link and tie rod both connect to the steering knuckles, one on each side.

No, it's above and parallel with the axle. I believe they call the piece you're thinking of the drag link.
