Very weird throttle/trans problem
This is a very weird problem with my throttle and or transmission. Here goes the explanation.
When you start the truck, everything is normal, runs smooth, idles right where it is supposed to. If you drop it in gear, reverse, drive, 2nd or 1st, the motor loads up like you are power braking it and the rpms go to about 1000. While it is doing this, the pedal has no response, you can floor it with no gain in rpms. If you shift it into neutral, it will spike to 1500 rpms with your foot off the pedal, then immediately return to normal idle and the pedal will respond again. If you let off the brake and let it roll, once it gets up to about 10mph, the throttle response returns but is sluggish, the trans seems to shift slightly fast and once you are in 3rd and over drive it has full response. Also the trans is getting very hot, very fast, like 250 degrees in just a few minutes of stop and go. If you get it on a long stretch, and in OD, it will slowly cool down. Also no CEL and no codes are being thrown.
I tried disconnecting both batteries for 30 minutes and doing the calibration trick with no luck.
Any one have any ideas or seen this before, i need to get this fixed by Sunday night so I can get to work Monday.

I am having my doubts that it is a transmission issue, and more like an electrical issue. Today we hooked a scanner up to it and most numbers made sense except that the scanner kept reading that it was in a different gear then what it was. I am sending it to a shop in the am for a Monday morning diagnostic. We will see what they say.

When I had it hooked up to the scanner, the apps showed 0% at idle when in gear, and would max out at 86% at wot, while that number is low, there is no increase in rpm. Whats weird is that once the truck is rolling, the throttle response returns and you have full control over it.

you have a couple ways to diagnose this problem, disconnect cooler lines, and loop together and restart the truck so the cooler is not connected to see if the cooler is plugged, and then if nothing changes disconnect the harness off of the trans and then restart it as well, this will eliminate any electrical problem if nothing still changes it means your torque convertor is fused together inside and you might as well rebuild it

I had a similiar problem/symptoms on my 06'. It turned out to be the "transmission speed sensor".
No idea what it does. It's under the truck. I think it's located somewhere near the tranny housing.
Tech said a rock must have destroyed it as it was hanging down.
