At least thats what I think it is....I get out of my truck tonight to unhook the trailer, and as I get out I hear a loud buzzing noise. The noise is coming from the fuel tank area. I have a GMC Safari which makes the same noise and its the fuel pump in the tank.

The reason Im asking this question, is cause I have never had this noise since Ive had the truck. All of a sudden the fuel pump is making a loud buzzing noise. Is this something to worry about? Should I have it looked at? The truck still runs awesome and no performance issues. Any help would be appreciated.

fuel filter changering time. 15,000 miles? nomaghter your might have gotten bad fuel. a pluged filter will over work the pump, and the pump will get loud. moreoften bad filters burn pumps out, thats why some pumps last a long time and some dont. some people change filters alot and some dont. if that dosent do it lit us kown what it is. good luck

Ill try that, but I only have a little over 6K on the truck now. Like you said, maybe I got some bad fuel.

It's the fuel pump. Mine does and has since day one.

Today, the buzzing was intermitent. Sometimes I heard it sometimes I didnt.

95ram, That makes me feel better. I guess its normal. I guess Im worrying too much over every little noise I hear, because my former truck was just a big piece of........junk. I guess Im just being paranoid. Thanks
