Valve adjustment

Anyone know of a quality shop or dealer in Denver-north area that will do a good and honest valve adjustment? I'm skeptical about having this done, but it's time. I sometimes feel that I'm charged for service that wasn't done, or done poorly. I'm looking for A good reliable and honest place. ??

Not sure who's in your area other than ATS (big name, possible big price....again, that's my opinion) but the adjustment is really pretty easy. There are tons of videos on youtube about this. After you do your first one it takes no time at all.......again, pretty easy job for what most places charge for it.

rocky mountain cummins, but as jhenson said about a 45 minute job. your 06 has 0.010 and 0.026 on the on the valve cover tag. if you give cummins the engine serial # they will tell you 0.020, it took us forever to get someone to tell us why the change, Chrysler did this to give a slight better margin of meeting the epa limit with the in-cylinder egr. set it at 0.020 get the 45* feeler gages set the timing mark approximately straight up and place a white chalk mark on the bottom, this makes it very easy when you are barring the engine from the bottom to see where to stop. a engine barring tool from genosgarage.com for $34.95 is very nice but not a must. some of my 06's have 6 10 mm socket size bolts holding the valve cover and some have 2 10mm bolts and 4 allen head. remove them and pop the two tubes out on the drivers side and remove the cover and adjust.

Getting ready to do mine in a week or two. Are you saying to go .010 and .020 for the settings?

I did this recently, not that tough of a job... but having the right tools is key.. angled feeler gauges and a good in-lb torque wrench..
