Using Acetone as a supplement
#17
You will not find acetone in my truck. I use it to clean my drag sleds clutches with as there is no residue. I kind of like residue on my cylinder walls. I did get some on some plastic one time and was amazed at what it did to it.

Wow, should I put acetone in my tank or not? Quite the conundrum. Having said that my Cummins friends, as faith would have I too have a question. Which brand of fuel additive do you use? The reason I ask is most of the additives have solvents in them, ie. Power Service.

I did the same thing. I spilled it on a TV remote, I immediately grabbed it to clean it off and my thumb went right through it. It melted like putty. Sure makes me want to run it in my truck.

like said before sure at full strength its very corosive but so diluted i wouldnt worry to much, ive used it in my lawnmowers and quads and even the wifes car on a long trip,i was amazed on the trip, ive tried it in my diesel a few times but didnt notice anything,i may try it again with the quad mmm tune in the x2 ive been playing with

Just think when all these diesel engine MFG's are trying to beat one another by having the best fuel economy by spending billions on new technology all they have to do is suggest acetone as an additive. Someone is wrong, I know where I'm putting my money and it's not in an engine rebuild due to a "snake oil" fuel additive rumor. Again fuel goes in the fuel tank!

a little amonia nitrate is diluted proportions would be great for your economy. I think if it were down to .001 percent it would make much more power. Just think of the cylinder pressure after adding amonia nitrate. It may be head splitting

Only solvent I know that will work in fuel is xylene. It will boost the octane of gas. Lots of people do this.... with caution to how they mix it of course .
I actually had a turbo motor built on paper for my mustang and this was how I was going to run it on the street since 93 octane wouldn't work for me if I took it on a trip and needed gas.... I built a nitrous motor that runs on pump gas instead .
Don't take my word though read up on it.

What truck did you buy that was $45k? My '05 2500 4wd loaded 6spd long bed 4dr was only $34k out the door. Either way the whole in tank chemistry set idea makes me think someone is working with acetone in a non-ventilated room!
I guess if the Gov't gets their way and mandates some high CAFE standards for automobiles all they have to do is use acetone!

You can jack your octane up a bit with it. Tons of people do it.
Look at some of the high end turbo buicks and mustangs for proof.
