U-joint repair: how likely...

I bought my 05 Dodge 2500 cummins about a year ago(43k miles) and transfered the warranty to my name..(have use of the 70k powertrain at least)

About a 3 weeks ago I had a front U-joint (at the wheel) repaired by a local guy, stupidly assuming without checking my 70,000 mile coverage. (I thought u-joints were excluded) Well now I hear the otherside going (like light bulbs, right?) so I decide to check my warranty booklet just in case since I spent like $840 to do one side. Some of you know how nicely those things come apart. Yes, ended up replacing the hub assembly(everyone smile to themselves and shake your head "yes"..) Anyway...
What do you suppose the likeyhood is of Dodge reinbursing me for any of the cost of the first u-joint done thinking there was no coverage.. I'll be making arrangements soon for them to do this other side that needs attention.

I'm releived to think that this work is included in my warranty but... I've got a feelin' I'm dreaming about them passing me a check for the first round.

What do you all think of that one?

i hope you had an axle u-joint installed that is greaesable! they will last much longer, if greased on a regular basis.

I'm going with a big fat NO. You would have had enough of a hard time getting that U-joint fixed properly by them under warranty.

My experience has been that they would reimburse the cost of the U-Joint, not the labor and probably not the damaged hub.
