Turbo lag or ????

I have an 06 2500 auto with a Smarty set on 5, MBRP cat-back and S&B intake.
It seems to stumble/lag when merging into traffic when I floor it or hit the gas pretty hard. Is this normal or am I running out of fuel? Did it yesterday when I was running about 30 or so and punched it to go around another car getting on the interstate??? Thanks for any help.

You should not have that much turbo lag with the stocker and a smarty. What is your Fuel Pressure? Is your fuel filter clean? Air filter? Any codes?

No codes. Don't know fuel pressure. Checking filters today. Truck only has 25000 miles. Fuel filter has maybe 3000 or so miles on it. Thanks for the quick reply.

No worries. I would recommend a F/P gauge and rail pressure, they will let you know what is going on.

A fuel filter can get clogged at anytime. They are not that expensive, pretty easy to swap.

Let us know what happens.

Yeah I'll definitely change the fuel filter. Could the Smarty setting be causing any of it?

It is possible to run out of fuel with the smarty due to the demand, however, it usually is not at the bottom of the map... It is had to tell with out gauges.

Take the truck back to stock, see if it happens then. It's possible your lift pump is on the way out.

You really don't have enough mods to run the smarty on 5... Is that a stick or auto?

You'll need some upgrades to get good use out of that smarty. Fuel pump, tranny upgrades, more gauges...

I have an 05 bone stock and just changed the filters and too am having the same problem. I go wot to pass and it boggs and sputters than takes off, I hope it is not the lift pump like people are suggesting! I too have no gauges but I should get some. Hopefully sombody will suggest a good set of gauges in your thread.
