Turbo Bark

Can anyone enlighten me to what causes turbo bark? and should I be concerned if my truck did have a small turbo bark?? I pulled from a stop sign and saw some wet pavement, well I had to mash the right pedal. When I was done sliding side ways I let off and the turbo barked several times..

Turbo bark is excess pressure being rapidly released back through the intake, not good on these engines. A VGT turbo without a waste gate is designed to do that, but not a turbo with a waste gate. Is you waste gate turned off or disabled?

If you let off pedal easy after hard run, it won't bark.

No I do not have a boost gauge. I have done this before just spinning the tires and have never had a problem. I did in fact have to let of rather guickley though.

From what I've been told, it is a more common occurance with upgraded transmissions. I never had turbo bark until I got my DTT installed. Is it bad for the turbo? ---yeah. But like said above, let off the throttle more easy and it won't do it. My turbo barks when I go into lock up. So I lock out OD until my RPMs are high enough that it won't cause the turbo to bark. Then OD on.
