during a recent trip to Yosemite my 2004 Ram 3500 quit on the ascent. I was at about 40 mph with a 25 lb boost and the tran temp was about 210 and EGT was about 1200.

when the tran shifted the turbo barked and i lost all power. I pulled over and sat for 5 min and it ran fine.

No it is not normal. I think the bark you are hearing is because the throttle is getting dumped very quickly while the turbo is making boost which is not good but normal. Something is wrong with your truck to just shut off like that.

Give us some info on your truck. Do you have an aftermarket tranny? Does it shift really hard? Either way your truck definitely should not shut off like that.

 

State - I don't know of any relation by that name
CrashCade - Stock transmission and it has always shifted hard into overdrive. Only 84000 miles
