Tunrning rotars quick questoin
Well with 80+k on the clock its time to change brake pads and have the rotars turned. I looked at the rotars acouple weeks back when I had the truck up on a lift getting the tires rotated and they look good, you could tell there where some wear grooves but nothing big. I went and picked up a set of OEM pads from the dealer(have tryed autostore brands and they all squek) and Im all ready to go in the morning but have one quick question, what all do I have to do to take off the rotar, I know the basic like remove pads and callipers but are there any tricks or steps after that(are they like some where they just have those clips around acouple of lugs or do I need to remove the large nut in the center of the hub(my tuck is a 4X4). Its been a while seince I pulled rotars off so Im just checking before I start tomorrow.

There is no-need to remove the axel nut. All you have to do is take the brake caliper off and the rotor will come right off. Well..it might not come right off if it is rusted to the hub. If it is stuck you might have to get creative with penetrating fluid or what not.

rubber mallet is usually pretty handy. i think madhat did a detailed write up on the pad r&r. might outta look it up, itll tell you exactly what you need in case you have forgotten what size sockets and stuff you need if its been awhile.

Each rotor does have a couple of retainer clips on the wheel studs. I had to remove those clips on each of my last two trucks when installing aftermarket wheels.
You'll need to cut the retainer clips off to remove the rotor. Other than that, they should come off pretty easy.

And you don't have to worry about replacing the retainer clips when you re- install the rotors, they are only there to keep the rotors from being knocked off the truck while it's on the assembly line.

thanks brett, well I woke up early this morning and got started and all went well, the hardest part was braking the bolts losse holding the calaper bracket on(didnt have a cheater bar). A little tip for people taking there rotors to a shop to get turned, dont make your girlfriend mad the night before if she is your only ride to the shop, or you will end up putting two 25+ pound rotors in a backpack and jumping on a bike and riding 3+ miles to the shop (dont ask me how I know)
Should be getting the rotors back before lunch and I think it will all go back together just as smooth as it came off.
