Yes I know it rhymes !! Sitting at the end of the drive this AM with the kids in the truck keeping warm while waiting for the school bus, & smelled diesel. Got out & looked under & lo & behold the CP3 is leaking where it mates to the timing cover & leaving a puddle on the ground. OH GREAT !! My 06 mega which cost 1 1/2 times the amount of my first house is p*ssing $2.70/gallon diesel out on the ground ! Does DC have a TSB out on this yet ? Got a machine to deliver with the trailer today & then it's off to see the dealer..........I'd kinda like to have all the upfront info I can get so I'm prepared when they tell me it's normal for a 45K truck to leak with 16,000 miles on it. Yeah i know how you feel my 06' did the same thing about 2 months ago with 27000 miles on odometer. Went to the dealer and they replaced the cp3 under warranty no leak as of yet(3000miles). Just curious is your truck stock?

 

Truck is bone stock with the exception of a muffler delete. We bought it just before a 3 week trip out west (5000 miles of running to see the sights over a 3 week period) & I didn't want any mods at all in case I had any issues & had to deal with a out of town dealership while on vacation. My local dealer is usually fairly decent on service, but I want to be informed on the cp3 issues before I talk with them.

 

What is the CP3?

 

It sure seems to be. Mine went this time last year, with only 19000 miles at the time, although it was a slow drip, and wasn't leaving a puddle like yours.

Do a search on CP3, you will hours of reading. Now get ready for the "I don't see any leak" from the dealer.

 

They saw the leak & after a call to "der fuhrher " (star I suppose) approved a new pump. Got it back & leak free so far. keeping my fingers crossed !!!!!!!!
