Ok, just did 2500 miles of driving in 96 hours including some time with my girlfriend and other friends. I will post the indicated mileage. Actual mileage was 1 mpg lower for all.

Indiana to Athens Texas towing old Chevy 3/4-ton truck @ 70 mph: 14 mpg
Athens to San Antonio no trailer @ 85-105 mph: 15 mpg
Athens to Dallas trailer w/old Chevy 1-ton dually @ 55 mph: 17.1 mpg
Dallas to Indiana w/empty trailer @ 80 mph: 15.5 mpg

The numbers keep on getting better as I add mileage. Tomorrow I tow the trailer empty back to NYC, will be doing some more driving/towing around there and will post more numbers if I have them.

I have all the positives that everyone else is noticing: +3 mpg improvemnt, smoother shifting, more responsive accelleration, less diesel "rattle" in engine. I was getting 10 mpg city/14 highway before the reflash. Now getting 13 city/17 highway.

Yeah but beware of the mileage.

You should confirm it with a few tankfulls by hand calculating it.

After the re-flash my overhead said I picked up ~2 MPG but it didn't hold true after I figured it on paper.

It (the overhead computer) said I averaged 20.4 but actual was 17.3.

But I'd still have it done for all the other reasons:

Smoother shifting

High idle feature (although you have to tell them to enable it after they download the new code).

Dieselnewbie's experience is the same as mine, although I am not getting anywhere near his mileage.

I didn't have the high idle enabled. Next time I take it in for service, I'll see if they can manage this without giving me the runaround.

after requesting the 037 i got the 007 instead. they screwed up and it was a pain in the butt to get them to understand i did not want the 007. they then claimed the 037 update wsnt in their systems when i came in and thats why the did the 007. this was a week and a half ago. bunch of moronic liars i say. they just screwed up and tried to cover it up. anyway. i see maybe a .5 mpg improvement and now my overhead is off by 2mpg. dont notice anything else that is different. doesnt seem like it did a whole lot but screw up my overhead computer

The 007 is supposed to be a later version and includes the 037 according to another discussion. On my paperwork it said 007 but on the sticker under the hood it was 037. Mine works great, better mileage and truck runs great. I read on another thread where the TSB brings the torque up to 610 like it comes in the 05's.

According to the paperwork in front of me 007 is dated Feb 04 and 037 is dated Sept 04. With that, I would assume 037 is the latest flash? I currently have my rig in to get this flash done so I just want to make sure they do the right one.

mines finally now hovering at a consistent 14 mpg. Not really what I was hoping for but Ill take it.

One thing I have noticed, I now have more diesel clatter and smoke than I had before........I thought elimanated both of those. (It is nice to finally be able to puff some smoke though )

2 tanks later, overhead shows 16.7, hand calculated is 17.2. Improved by 3.1 mpg. The TSB definitely worked for me.
