Trucks been kinda smokey/hazy lately

I have an 06 3500 w/approx 60Km.

For the past couple months, its been hazy/smokey on accelerating-from minor throttle blips to WOT. Before, the truck ran almost completely clean-visually at least.
Ever since my mileage has been getting to the warranty mark-(go figure) I have noticed that it is burning a lot dirtier.

I have changed the fuel filter & air filters at regular service intervals but no change yet.

I am wondering if there is possibly an injector problem-only cause my warrantys getting up there-or possibly something else. Do these trucks usually make a haze?

Its completely stock drivetrain-other than aftermarket tires. No programmers ect.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

When it is hot/humid out my truck will haze stock. It has been that way since new.

WOT= wide open throttle. My truck is second gen, but when its hot out, it will haze quite a bit as well.

Mine will get a decent amount of black smoke from mine at WOT. It's completely stock. Is there something I should worry about? I thought black smoke was normal.

Technically black smoke indicates unburned fuel. This can happen normally while accelerating hard from a stop or very low speeds before your turbo has a chance to spool up and pump some air into the engine. Non-excessive black smoke under hard accelerations were the turbo isn't up to speed yet is normal as long as it goes away once the boost builds.

All that being said, I did notice that it was much easier to leave some black smoke behind before I adjusted my very loose valves. Since I've adjusted it the duration and quantity of smoke is greatly reduced but my truck doesn't sound like a tap dancer anymore so that's good.

i am really wondering if there is a chance my valves need to be adjusted at 60 000km, kinda doubt it-hopefully.

the smoke does go away, once everything spools up & i've reached my speed, but why has it changed from when it was new. Before, it never smoked, hazed except once a year in the spring when i hooked up my trailer for the first good pull of the season.

I have found over the three years I've owned my truck that the atmosphere does have an effect on smoke output of my truck. Unless you are experiencing a drop in mileage or rough idle or some other symptom with the smoke I would not be concerned. When you want it to make smoke (for someone following too closely) it won't.

In late spring in summer times your gonna notice a little bit more haze due to temps outside and lighting conditions. Plus with your mileage going up your gonna have a little more soot through out. Everything is just fine with your truck as long as its not pouring heavy black smoke for an extented time(over 4-5 sec at a time).

Mine smokes/hazes some days and not at all on others. The truck runs good and pulls HARD so I don't worry about it...just the nature of the beast.
I've noticed mine smokes less since the "cat" ferry left me a piece of straight pipe...lol!

if i don't get on mine for a week... it will puff a bit.

but if i don't get on it for two or three weeks...it will "blow it out" and leave a huge TRAIL of smoke

mine has a blue-ish smoke at idle sometimes.
figure it's best to leave well enough alone, and not worry about it.

Mine will blow some black if I've babied for a few days - then I get on it and it blows black really good. Put something heavy behind it and work it good - that'll get it cleaned out too.
