Truck Woke Up!

I have about 39k on my truck and have never pulled anything to speak of. This weekend I bought a boat (Older boat, pretty heavy) and had to pull it a ways home. Man what a difference! Pulling the boat obviously helped to break the motor in. This thing really came alive this weekend. Much faster get up and go and responsiveness. I love my truck.

You will find that on an ongoing basis. Even with my truck (140k on the clock), after tooling around for awhile, pull a good heavy load, seems to clear things up and then she really scoots again.

The injector tips get gummed up just driving around empty. Pull a load and get some good heat on them to burn em off and they start working as designed. I have found a good ride on the highway at 2300+ RPM for a couple hours helps too.

BTW with the G56 2300 only = 75 or so.

I was told when i bought mine new to pull something heavy to break her in right away. I did and have nothing to compare it to but man she still runs great. I do pull heavy on a regular basis and have ever since new. These engines are made to work not be babied.

I have a few trailers that need to be towed. I won't charge you for towing them for me.

I get 12mpg towing my 9K 5th around on flat ground, but after a day of pulling thru the Smokeys, now I seem to be getting about 14mpg, and that includes the mountains??

Coolride, it's funny you mention that. The best towing mileage I have ever made was a trip from upstate SC to Gatlinburg TN through the mountains. I got 13 mpg towing my 9600 lbs camper. I usually average 9 - 11 towing that camper. Go figure.
