truck surging at low RPM

truck surging at low RPM
I have a 05 CTD, 48re. At low speeds around 1000 rpm the truck surges. It is most noticable in 2nd gear and going up a slight incline maintaining a constant 1000rpms. But will also happen in drive, but not as noticable. The RPM's stay constant, so I suspect it is a transmission issue. However the transmission has a new torque converter, 2nd gear band and a few other things replaced under warranty. The dealership has done a lot of work trying to find the problem. They now suspect it may not be within the transmission. The truck is almost out of warranty at 157,000 km.
I am sure they will figure this out before the warranty is up, but I am getting tired of taking the truck in once a week. Thursdays appointment will be the 5th for this.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? Any suggestions would be appriciated.
Thanks

No codes. They say everythings looks fine now with the transmission. The shop forman thinks it may be the throttle position sensor. But there are a few other things it could be. He said that if it is a problem with the TPS it wont give off a code.

Your not alone! My 2003 2500 5.9L HO just started doing the same thing last week... On cold starts w/temps around 35F... The truck will surge/buck/pulse when accelerating between 10 & 30 mph. If I keep the accelerator steady I can somtimes keep the truck moving forward w/out it surging/bucking. If I get more aggressive with the accelerator & attempt to speed up to 25-30mph...the truck surges/bucks & hesitates again... I can feel the whole truck surging forward, then relaxing, then surging forward, then relaxing in rapid succession! When this 1st started last week, I felt as though the throttle response seemed more sluggish and less reposive than usual...then the surging/bucking started. Oddley enough, once the truck warms up, the bucking stops & the truck drives fine the rest of the day!???

my truck is doing the same thing on a new trans!!
i dont think that it is the tc because it comes and goes and when it is not doing it the tc locks and unlocks great. had it on the scaner the last time it did this and showed the converter locking in 1st and unlocking in 4th??? wiered but shifts great when not doing it??????

Something I noticed recently...
After Starting the truck and shifting into drive, I can tell within a few feet that the trans has that tell tale sluggish/heavy feel via the trucks unusual throttle response. Oddly enough, I've had luck with the following procedure...
1) Safely pull over to the side of the road or better yet find a parking lot.
2) Put the truck in Park.
3) Switch off the ignition.
4) Cycle the ignition 2-3 times without actually starting the truck.
5) Start the truck and the problems gone! (If not, try repeating the procedure!)
Between steps 2 & 3 I also open and shut the Driver's Door. I have yet to confirm "IF" opening & shutting the driver's door makes any difference...I just got in the habbit of doing it every time. I have no idea why any of this should make the problem go away... I guess ever since Dodge added the In-Park Safety Alarm TSB I figured its possible the computer is sensing the door opeing/shutting via the door switch and resetting something within the electronics somewhere? I'll have to try a series of not opening vs. opening/shutting to see if this step is truly helping(?) I know this sounds a bit crazy but its been working for me!

Sometimes I feel this with my truck, usually it is only after getting off the highway/freeway. It will only happen for a minute or two and then stop again and it doesn't happen all of the time, only once a week or so. I only feel it on partial throttle, when I give it more throttle it will go away.
