You can run it.....but, it's a gamble.....kinda like a stomach ache.....how long can you go before it blows apart? A buddy of mine got a single mass flywheel for his G56 relatively cheap from NAPA. Got a Valeo (industrial) clutch and put in with it and that thing is awesome!!! Just something to think about when you start buying parts.

Niether mechanic I consulted with warned me about a sudden catastrophic failure of the DMF that could cause damage. Just would shake more.
Your problem of slippage could be a weak pressure plate in your clutch. I experienced that at about 35,000KM and it was replaced under warranty. Had nothing to do with DMF. Have not had any further slippage.
Dealer wanted $2000.00 plus tax 260.00 for parts here in Canada. Found aftermarket ones on sale normally costing $1800.00 in USA, delivered to my campsite in Texas for $701.28. That savings more than pays for that campsite for all 3 months we are there.

TO Justin.
I considered single mass, but the vendors all warned me that it would be noisy. When I explained that I bring the wife along when I go camping and that she doesn't like new noises, they recommended staying with DMF, or stop taking the wife along. After 46 years of getting used to her cooking, I decided to go DMF!

My buddy's '07 that he put the single mass in is super quiet and smooth. Hope your fix holds up for a while but I feel that later down the road it will happen again. I'm not saying what you did was a bad thing....it's all boils down to personal preference.

Awesome news Way up North-
Hey, can you PM me where you found the clutch setup so cheap and what it is? I haven't done mine yet, and would love to be in it way less than the $2000 I'm being quoted in MN as well.
Thanks again!

Decided to have new DMF and clutch kit install in Texas before hauling 40 ft 5th wheel 2800 miles back to Canada. General mechanic did it for $300.00. No more shakin whatsoever. So entire job cost me $1001.25. For those who it might interest, both kits were Centric auto parts, both accessed thru Amazon.com from 2 vendors. And,,,,,I took old parts to a recyler to get rid of them and they gave me $9.01 for them.

I went with the Valair single mass fly wheel, 7 quarts of Amsoil ATF, and the stage 2 clutch (good to 475 I believe). Shake is gone, clutch feel is great, pedal travel is great.
Now though, i get to listen to the hydrolic sounding crap. Time to add some sound deadeners around the shifter. I've been told that it will quiet down with some miles, so far 3K miles later, very little difference. And to boot- the throw out bearing sometimes tapps. If I press the clutch in and back out again, that sometimes goes away. I think I have to have the mechanic look at adjustments maybe?
Anyway, love the performance, hate the noise from the Valair.
