Truck Runs Weak When Cold, And Dies
2003 dodge 3500, 135,000 miles 6spd.
truck runs real weak when cool outside, lets say less than 60 degrees.
it used to just run bad for a few minutes, it now takes about 30 minutes of highway driving, to get it to where it runs right.
it has absolutely no power about 2000 rpm, until it has run for 30 minutes or so.
it also will die at a stop sign, when you push in the clutch, it will try to drop to idle, but sometimes it will stumble and just die. it will start back up, or if you are coasting you can dump the clutch and it will fire back up.
i am really at a loss on this problem, i keep thinking maybe it is the ambient air temp sensor? but i have also read about loose injector lines?
any other ideas as to what it might be? it died about 6 times this morning in 10 miles.
thanks, chris

stock lift pump.
i have spoken with a few techs today, and one has mentioned the pressure connector tubes at the injectors, and that one my be messed up. i also spoke with piers and they had no idea what it might be.
the thing that does not make sense to me about a fuel pump, is that the thing will run just fine after about 30 minutes of run time.
i will change out the filter tonight, and see if that helps.
thanks guys,
chris
