Truck is in the dealer...

The first "Free" oil is usually a gimme just to introduce you the Service dept. and hopefully you will keep returning for service. My dealership use to do it but they stopped? I thought it was great because it kept the customer away from the quick lube places and you can train the customer. The customer also finds out that the dealership is usually cheaper then the quick lubes and its done right with factory approved oil/parts.

yup, the only reason I don't use the dealer is because I change my own oil. Although, when I had my truck towed to the dealer the other day, for my lift pump failure, they fixed it, then washed, waxed, nad vaccumed it all in about 4 hours.. then on top of that, I had ordered a drop in under the rail bedliner, and rubber bet mat from them for my truck, and they gave me the bed mat free, kinda as a "orry your truck gave you problems" type deal.. Mighty good customer service if you ask me.

The FIRST oil change is CODED when the repair order gets processed. There is WARRANTY money already sitting in reserve for the dealer to cover this.D.C.wants the DEALER to offer the first one FREE to help keep you coming back.Same for fuel at delivery. So many gallons is paid for by D.C. Dealer dosen't lose a cent if they handle their paper work correctly. In fact usually the first tank of FUEL is on the window sticker.First free oil and filter has been going on for YEARS.Some GOOBERS in service seem to forget this.Usually not on purpose just out of laziness or ? was no sweat off my rear.I offered it or if I didn't customer was surprized at the window cause it was no charge to them. We(me and dealer)got paid for it. Dealers get a 40% mark up from their cost on PARTS including the oil and filter and usually .3 of a hour at warranty rate($75 to $90 some dollars per hour) for the oil and filter change. They DO make PROFIT from this! The FIRST one ends up being paid like any other warranty claim.

Do you have an auto or manual transmission? I thought I had an injector knock when it is actually comming from my transmission while at idle and clutch disengaged. It's kind of a rattling sound and usually starts when the truck is warmed up. Of course the dealer told me this is normal for the G56
