Question Transmission Service

I am getting ready to reach 30K miles and was wondering if the service should be performed by a dealer to have the bands readjusted, or should I take it to a transmission shop to have this done.

Either way I go, does anyone have suggestion for the North Houston or Conroe area for a dealer or transmission service shop?

Thanks.

Some say to adjust them at every service but I was told to only do so only if it starts to slip. When I had mine serviced at 10K my dealer told me being I drive mostly Hwy miles I could go a lot longer then a person who does mostly stop and go city driving. Just make sure if you go to a trans shop that they only install ATF+4 fluid and not AFT+3 that I've seen some do. If you got the $$$ install synthetic AFT+4 as it will hold up better. Oh and don't let them tell you normal ATF+4 is synthetic as it is still a group III fluid that is close to synthetic but its still not as good as full synthetic trans fluid that is made from group IV base stock.
