trans question?

How much will the stock trans take before it starts slipping and I burn it up? I want to get a smarty and I am wondering when it is essential to upgrade the whole transmission. Will I be ok just geting a new torque converter and valve body or do I need to get the whole trans upgrade? I want to be able to run the smarty at the highest setting without worries of tearing something up. Thanks for the insite.

A dodge with a automatic transmission and not worrying about tearing something up. That is an oxymoron. shift kit or valve body will do wonders, add a converter and that is great. A complete trans upgrade is the best choice, but never worry about it? I wish.
