Trans problem?

I have heard this complaint before on auto trans, but now its happened to me

My truck has been sitting for 2 weeks, I started it to let her warm up went inside to get a cup of coffee. I took the time to put my seat belt on and tune in the radio, put it in reverse and nothing! I looked to make sure it was in reverse and it was, I reved her up a little then she finally started to roll backwards. Is this normal or is my converter draining? Besides upgrading to a new trans or converter is there anything I can do? I just hit 11k miles and only use it to pull my boat so trans issues are unacceptable!

That me to. Funny thing though mine now does a little better when its cold. Once it slips a little it really starts acting up

I have owned alot of dodge trucks and from experience if you let them sit for an extended period of time like that they will slip a little. I think I read in the owners manual that the tc drains when it sits for that long. They say its no big deal.

I would make sure that it's really in gear, the indicator might say R but unless you feel it drop into gear chances are you're between them. This has happened to me a few times, just put it back in park and pull it down in reverse and all is well.

When you start the truck, put it in neutral. Most Dodge truck trans since the 80's dont flow fluid in park. Put it in neutral, take a sip of coffee and away you go! No big deal, but if its still under warranty, take it in and let the dealer put a new checkvalve in for ya. Nothing major.
