tranny upgrade options

I should have titled this "tranny upgrade options on a budget!" ANyhow, my question is, is there anyway to limit slip without spending a couple of G's? Can I just put in a performance VB and increased line pressure and stuff will help it? Or a tranny controller? I know the best way would be to buy a torque convertor and stuff, but I really don't want to spend $1000+on a convertor, then more to have it installed. I don't have any power adders, only an intake, a muffler delete, but I'm running 35" tires and it already seems like my tranny is mushy. It only has slightly less than 7000 miles on it. I'm not ever going to chip it, or propane or anything, so I don't need something to withstand 500+horsepower or anthing, I just want my tranny to last. Thanks for any help!
