tranny temp light keeps comming on

tranny temp light keeps comming on

i have a 2004.5 3500 ctd i was backing a boat in a drive way up a little hill and the tranny temp light came on so i shut it down check the fluid looks new so this weekend i went camping and i was driving up a hill pulling my camper and the light comes on again the oil looks new and smells fine i stopped the truck at the top of the hill and put it in nuetral and revved the motor a little to cool it down a little any one have any idea why this light is comming on my truck has 13000 miles on it thanks

Backing a trailer can cause high tranny temps, however just pulling one normally should not. Take it to the dealer and have them check for any TSB's related to the Tranny cooling system.

Turn on the AC when doing the low speed manuvering with a trailer. It will engage the fan clutch. Just thought it might be worth a try.
