The G56 is built my Mercedes, and has been in use in medium-duty trucks for years. The case is aluminum, it's needle bearings are stronger than the NV5600's, it's shifter rails/forks are quality bronze pieces centrally located in the case, etc. I'd try to get the dealer to swap in a G56 for your NV...

Your '05 must be an earlier build - did you also get the plastic intercooler?

well. here is the latest. took truck to a different dealer. they had a NV5600 ordered and it arrived last night. took truck in this morning. dealer called at 4pm said truck was ready. went and picked it up and it is like new. tranny feels great ( a little tight have to rebreakin a new tranny). But this dealer restored my faith in DODGE. great service and acted like they cared. I couldn't believe they had one in that fast. I will be going to them from now on for service and maybe a even my next purchase. If they can beat Dave Smith that is.

Just a question, is this the "second" dealer you talked about, 30 miles away? If so, sounds like a good decision.

PS. sorry for all the ranting about the bad dealer on this post by me. I was just a little Pi**ed off that a new truck would 1- break a heavy duty transmission with only 37,000 miles and 2- that the dealer gave me such additude about a loaner car. I just couldn't believe that after spending 30+ thousand dollars at their dealership they would treat me like that. They will never get my business again and I can't wait to fill out that evaluation. Revenge with the pen. Have a Merry Christmas yall.
