tranny problem?

I have a 2003 2500 diesel auto 4x4. My problem is this, seems when I am towing a trailer and am at around 30 - 40 mph and hammer the throttle, the truck just shifts out of gear, like it doesn't know where to go into. The motor just revs up and will not go into grear until let go petal and then apply slowly. But, only happpens at that speed range. I was wondering has this happened to any of you and did you find a fix. The dealer said bring it in, but with my luck it won't reproduce that problem for them.

Any help appreciated,
Rob

Mine used to do it too, especially if I hammered it while I was in second gear. The dealer could not fix it because, as you said, they could not duplicate the problem. I got a DTT valve body and it has not happened since. That valve body is definitely worth the $$$....
I was picking the truck up from the dealer after them not being able to fix it and I nailed it and it did it. I decided to hold my foot to the floor to try and break it totally to help them find the problem but the rev limiter held the rpms down and as soon as I let up it went back into gear and all was normal again....

Dodgezilla,
You hit right. I have that same problem. I wanna get a DDT valve body but wonder if it will void warranty. I told tech that I will come in one day with trailer and we will take it for rip to show him. Hope it will occur then.

I think the VB will void the trans warranty even though it will probably extend the life of the trans. Crazy isn't it?
