Tranny and Diff Oil changes
I am going to change the tranny oil and filter and the diff oil. The truck is on 07 with 48000 miles and I was wondering what kind of oil I should get. I see some people on here are running Royal Purple synthetic 70-90 or 70-110 for the diffs.
What do you recommend for the diff, I am not going to be doing any heavy towing and a little med towing, around 8500lbs.
And for the tranny I need ATF +4. What name brand is the most common. I see alot on Amsoil.
thanks
Nathan

75/90 GL-5 synthetic gear oil is whats the factory calls for being used. Like the post above I to use Amsoil SVG 75/90 gear oil. It took about 7.5 qt's to change out both diff's when removing the cover and draining it all out.

Rumor has it that Dodge will spec a 75-110 in the future for the diffs.
But, 75-140 will cover anything you want to do.
I found some Valvoline ATF4 at the Autozone for the tranny.
Amsoil 75-110 in the rear.
I didn't know RP made a 110 visc. Thought only 90 or 140.
HMMM
