Hint,,,,,, (Look in his sig for the Mitchell gear splitter)

I'm running 3.73s and 37s with the G56 manual trans. I had the Mitchell 18.2% OD installed for about 5k miles until I stripped out a gear

My mileage pretty much stinks too. I get about 14-15 with 50/50 driving. With the 64' load at 18,000 lbs, I was running 80 mph over Jellico and through the hills...and I got about 9 mpg.

With the OD unit and 37s, you really couldn't shift into 6th over unless you were going at least 65 - 70. With the Helix 2 and wild rail, it'd pull hard at 12 - 1400 rpm still and maintain oil pressure, but the 1,000 ft-lbs pounding away just doesn't do good things to the drivetrain.

You probably lose 2-3 mpg going with 37s over stock I think.

I got the dynatrac front hub conversion kit which I hope will improve mileage some, and someday a set of BB Garrett turbos.

i pull a 15k enclosed race trailer with my 35's and i dont really care for the setup. WIth teh 3.73's and teh auto, it seems i need a gear in between 3rd and overdrive. I can drive out of over drive to about 62-65 at 2300 rom or turn overdrive on and need to be about 75-80 to be at 1800 -1900 or so rpm's. It seems tha twhen going up hills the rpms drop while in overdrive and egt;s increas quite a bit. Once i drop to 1700 or below i lose power rapidly. On flat highways, 70-75 in overdrive is just fine.
I have 35 toyos MT's and are a great tire, have 45k miles on them and will probably get 60k or so. But, i dont think the whole setup i have is ideal.
