maybe time for a valve adjustment. Takes about 2hrs max and real easy to do, the #6 cylinder sucks so do that one first. That made a world of differance in sound when i did mine at 36k

As the injector nozzles self destruct they shed pieces into the cylinders that 'tic' and bounce around. This scores the cylinder walls, pits the pistons, chips the turbo and bends the valves. It's normal right around 130,000 miles....

You can order a new engine from any Dodge dealer, just walk in and say 'Money is no object, I'd like to buy a new Cummins engine for my truck, and I'd like it installed with all the finest accessories you have available'

At least you'd make some dealer's Christmas VERY merry!!!!

Do you know of any links for maybe a 'how to' and pics? I've never done it before but I'm at 61K.

Ya know I was just going to say this was my 03 engine and he would be ok as long as his truck wasn't an 03... Then I reread his post his truck is and 03. Oh dang 39b you may be in trouble
Good luck bud,
Topper

Sorry 39b, Topper and I got away a bit

If it goes away withe engine speed I would suggest a much more minor issue. A valve adjust may be in order. At least check the easy stuff first.
