throttle hanging up above 2000 rpms
Hello
I'm new here and I'm having a problem with my dads 2006 dodge 2500. When you rev it up above 2000 rpms it stays for 2-3 seconds and slowly comes down. Every place i have called telling me it's injectors. The truck starts hard and one time it would not start. The funny thing is when you unplug the boost sensor it acts fine. I also blocked off the injectors one at a time it still acts the same. I replaced the boost sensor and still acts up.
Thanks Rob

Turbo is still packing in air and there is still plenty of fuel to burn...Normal in my experience.
Burp the throttle in drive while traveling around 5-10mph, you'll feel the truck still gaining speed after you let off the fuel.
The hard start aspect does have a Technical Bulletin. Search TSB Hard start or White smoke and you'll find it.

It is kinda normal for it to hang if you were using a pressure box but with a stock truck it is not. Need to have a return flow test done on the injectors. This problem can burn a piston if you are not careful.

I just talked to a fuel injection shop here in town last week and while we were in conversation the guy said that every Cummins he's worked on the first thing he always does is blip the throttle 2-3 times making sure it goes up above 2000rpms and if it hangs there it's a definite injector problem .

Thanks
I replaced #5 injector and it still doing the same thing. I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and replace the rest of the injectors.
Thanks for your help
