Threw a 1740 today, twice?

my truck threw a 1740 today, saying TCC O/D SOL performance today twice. The CEL came on, I checked wiht the JR and got the above. I cleared the code, and started again it came right back before I moved. I drove about 10 miles on the interstate to get home after an errand and returned to stock with smarty. I restarted no code, drove truck for about 20 miles with errands and no code. Dodge said let us know if it comes back, otherwise forget it.:confused013:

It has been like zero degrees lately and my truck sits outside. I do not drive far to work like a couple miles and outside of that it has only made a few 5-6 miles trips otherewise during these cold temps.

I always plug in, start, run high idle for about 5 min then go slow till the gauges show me some temps.

I had my smarty jr on Level 3, TM4 and TQ2 and the POD on 50. Everything has been fine for about 4000 or so miles. I do not beat on my truck at all, fyi, and I did have a govener something (have to check ) in the tranny done by TSB for first/second shifts a while back.

Thoughts?

Try lower settings on the JR. Could be from the converter slipping.

I've had the same code pop up a couple times in the last month since it has gotten cold. I am really not worried about it. I think it is just a nusience thing. I know it comes up often on built trannies and is related to the software not seeing a large enough drop in rpm's when the torque converter kicks in which is why it happens on built trannies with tight torque converters. Mine did it once when driving turning the **** from 4wd to 2wd and once when shifting from park to reverse on a cold day to back out of the drive way. I run my smarty on level 3 all the time. I've read a lot and talked to some reliable tranny people and believe it is just a nusience thing like I said. JMO.

I have not had the code come back and have not put smarty back on either. I suppose it could be slipping or something from the smarty jr. I would be suprised because I am so easy on this truck. I guess a few more days without and I will try a few with to see.
