Terrible mpg/power!

Our 04 Dodge is experiencing poor power and mpg. We took it to the dealer and they say everything is "within specs".
We are getting 7-9mpg only towing a 5,000lb. trailer. Power at lower rpms is ok, but get up to hwy speed and there is nothing when you mash the pedal!
They have done 2 computer reflashes, fuel filter was replaced, they say the fuel flow is within specs.
Anyone have any suggestions??
Thanks!

Is it throwing any codes? I haven't done it in a while but you turn the key on, key off three times or so and read them off the odometer.

How long has it been doing this? Over a few tanks of fuel?

Ask them to call the techline and see what they recommend. Those guys know their stuff. If they won't, find another dealer. 7-9mpg pulling 5k is not acceptable, unless you are driving like yout stole it.

Do you have any turbo leaks? Maybe a turbo hose that is popping out from under a clamp? If you do, you may hear a hissing noise from the engine while towing and accelerating. Just a thought...

Just went out and looked for codes. All I got was a P0483.
We drive about 60-65mph and are very easy on the accelerator.
We use to get great mpg.

P0483= Cooling Fan Speed-------- I would have the Tec's go down the Road and go WOT to see what type of pressure you actually have! Sounds like you are a little Low on the FP!

Yeah, we are suspecting the FP. Dealer said fuel pressure has nothing to do with it and that trucks that come from the factory with as low as 2psi are fine.

Hang in their it will get better. I have 22,000 on my 06, On my last hauling job I had 27 750 pound calves in a 32 foot steel trailer and I got 9.5 (75 mph in OD) The first load when The truck was new I got about 6 mpg. The power is so much better now to
