Swapping auto trans in 05 2500 with. Manual trans from 07 2500

Going from automatic to manual transmission. Im helping a friend remove the auto trans in a 95 HD 2500 12 valve reg cab and replacing it with a manual trans from a 07 3500 king cab. We dont ya dont have the control mounting plate out Of the 07 yet. Can anyone tell me what kind of modifications to expect

No idea what the "control mounting plate" is, but going to guess that you are talking about the engine to transmission adapter plate? Also this is the 1st gen section...89-93, you want to post this over in the 2nd gen (94-02).

Can you tell us what kind of manual transmission you are using?
The 5 speed, which I will guess is still the NV-4500, or the G56 6 speed transmission?

I don't know '07 trucks very well.

07 would be G56 exclusively.

Should be pretty much just a standard manual swap.

I think I remember seeing a starter spacer on the adapter plate on the one G56 converted '97 12V I worked on. I know some of the NV-5600 2nd gen trucks I have worked on had starter spacers, some didn't.

So he may need that spacer or a special starter.

I will be honest, I have never driven, or worked on a 3rd gen Dodge diesel truck.

Same here, not 100 percent sure about what constituted he need for the spacer, but when we did the Dual disk clutch in Greenie, we had to add the starter spacer because of the 13" flywheel. Best guess is you could see either based upon the clutch and flywheel chosen.
