Swap 48RE for 6 Speed

Just out of curiosity, has anyone swapped out their auto for a manual?
If so, how do they like the change? Was it difficult?

just let you know that right now the NV5600 that would have came in your truck is bringing big $ right now. if you break one they are hard to find. If you want a 6 speed I would just sell yours or trade it in that would be easier in my opinion. if you want your auto to hold power about $3500 will hold quite a bit of power.

Most always the swap is the other way around.I'd build that 48re long before I'd even think of going to a manual unit.In fact I'd not EVEN consider that swap.

Why not consider it? It's 6k for a decent built tranny.
With an NV you can put a $1.5k clutch on it and run 750 hp without
any worries.
Right?

Depends on what your going to do with a NV5600? I'm not sure how much a built automatic would cost, but I do know they have gotten a lot better at holding power than the old dodge automatic transmissions. I have a NV5600 and truckpulling it I broke the mainshaft in the transmission. I have the EEP upgraded shaft but that was about a 1,000 dollars then throw 1,600 for a double disk clutch. 2,600 dollars right there, you also will need to rebuild your clutch sometime another 1,000 dollars. Starts adding up. Really need to think about what your going to do with the truck.

My brother also broke his upgraded EEP mainshaft, he is now running a NV4500 in his truck.
