My pickup seems to surge while cruising at 60 with CC set. I dont see the tach change however I can "feel" it, anyone else notice this? cause or cure?

What is your speedo doing during the surge? My cruise works perfect up to 67mph and after 80 mph Of course the exact speed I would drive on the Hwy most of the time, I can't use the cruise.

The problem with my truck is the speedo will fluctuate at around 70 mph. It will jump up 1 or 2 mph and the truck will slow down with the cruise on. Then the speedo will drop back down and the truck will accellerate hard to get back the 2-3 mph. It will do this over and over. I've never read about anyone else having the same problem and I've never bothered to have the dealer look at it.
I can see the same thing on a scanner from the speed sensor signals so I've replaced both sensors, one in the rear axle and one in the trans, neither made any difference. Good luck

My truck does the same thing. It will surge then lose power etc. I took it to a dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with the truck. It is really annoying

I noticed the surge is more noticable when you have a chip or modul. My 04.5 done it and so does my 06.

has anyone found a solution to this problem? If you refer to my post in the help section you will see a buddy of mine is having the same issue.

Mine does it under 55 mph, but around these parts I rarely need it at that speed. Seems like it got worse when I added the EZ, but hard to say for sure...

Searched for "cruise surge". There are several posts that say if you insert the straw off of a WD40 can in the vacume line under your battery that goes to the actuator it will cure this issue.

with a module, the throttle response is faster than the cc response, cc asks for power, fuel overcompensates, cc drops power, lag, etc.

Sounds like an unstable feedback control system. My 04.5 CC is rock solid, couldn't ask for better speed contol (at any speed). If your's is acting unstable (surging) you may have a problem and would need to see the dealer about a fix or diagnosis.

Mine did many moons ago. With a Quad 30/60/100 box it was worse on any setting.Few times my cruise would just go dead, would loose memory if reset was used etc.It stopped suging and cutting off a long while back on its on and is rock solid.I have not had the Quad box on it in 2 years now so don't know if it would still make it surge etc.

spoke to a friend who used to work as a tech for my dealership, he said that the current dodge software has a weird glitch, which causes the surge feeling, but it is usually only noticeable with a tuner or box, due to the increased fueling. he said that some people who have gotten a re-flash, suddenly start experiencing the surge, and they had never had it before.

My truck was doing it intermitantly then started doing it all the time so I did have the ecm flashed and it still does it.
There was a down loader left on my truck by the previous owner. I had the ecm flashed thinking maybe that was the cause but the flash didn't change anything.

I noticed mine does it too, but only when I have my Edge Juice w/ Attitude on one of the settings. I usually drive on level 1 (economy). When I notice it surging, I bump it to level 0 (stock) and it stops.

Mine never started doing it until I installed the Juice and obviously its only when traveling at a constant speed.
