Stuck in 2nd gear
Well I left work tonight and the Dodge is stuck in 2nd. Starts out in 2nd and never shifts, can't even get it to manually shift. I have no lights on. I'm thinking solenoid and transducer from my internet searching, but I'm just a little unsure. Fluid level seems to be bit over, but not much, and it has worked fine up until today. I hardly ever tow anything with it, but the other day I did tow my Jeep into a bad headwind, and now this happens. I know the Jeep and trailer don't weigh more than 6000 pounds, but if I put the tow/haul on the interstate at around 70 it wouldnt shift into overdrive. Is this normal? I took the tow/haul off and it would lockup and pull all but the tall hills. It really seemed to labor with the headwind though. All this happened within a 20 mile trip. In tow/haul it ran around 2500 rpm at 70 on the interstate, just didn't seem healthy to me. Maybe its normal, but I can't imagine listening to that on an all day trip! Any thought guys? It is an 04.5 Dodge, totally stock drivetrain, other than 6" lift, and 37" tires. No added power items at all, other than a K&N intake.
