Stripped Tranny Pan bolt Q
quick question - while investigating a slow seapage/leak on my tranny pan, I found one of the bolts was loose and the threads stripped in the tranny. I'm not sure this is the source of the leak but could be, hard to tell b/c it's very slow (no drips, just seapage) and over the past 7k miles with the PML pan, it's spread the fluid/dirt a bit. Could also be one of the sensor/line connections on the top/left side. The bolt in question is the front left corner (as you are sitting in the driver's seat) or the one closest to the drivers side front wheel.
Anyone know what size helicoil kit (drill bit/tap/inserts) I need to repair this?
Next filter change, I'll repair the thread and replace the gasket (also a possible culprit). When I installed the PML pan, I used the reuseable OEM gasket in lieu of the cork one included from PML.

5/16 course thread will do it. Or you could tap it out to 3/8 (poor). Sometimes a slightly longer bolt will grab undamaged threads.
