Strange Tread Wear - w/pics
I only have about 2,500 miles on these BFG All Terrain TKO Tires. The REAR tires look like NEW.
This is what the fronts look like:
Is this NORMAL due to the weight of the front end? I do have a vibration at highway speeds but I always thought that trucks this size are more prone to vibrations. It appears that they are wearing everywhere along the sides of the tread profile. So I do NOT think it is an alignment issue...
HELP!!?!?!???

I think it has to do with how the tread lug is designed. I've had customers complain about tread wear like that and have done countless frontend repairs and alignments per customer. It has gotten nowhere. Good luck.

are the tires rated for the capacity they are subjected to? some people have put d range tires on a super heavy truck that requires e range and then load it up with rock or trailers.
the tires just may be overloaded. do you carry heavy loads over the rear axle?

The pictures are the FRONT tires. The rears look like new. I do NOT carry any heavy loads, except for the Cummins engine .
With the FRONTS ONLY wearing like that, do you think it could be an alignment problem?
These are D LOAD tires rated at 3,200 LBS per tire. I do not tow or load heavy loads.

Are they underinflated... THose look like BFG's???? I keep my fronts at full tire pressure and have not seen any wear problems.. I also rotate mine every 8K ot 10K miles...

I always run 65psi in my 285 KOs and rotate at least every 7500. The wear pattern evens out after a few rotations. I have over 25,000 on my set and they look like they will last 50,000.

I agree with what alot of people are saying. This is not an alignment problem, check your pressures and rotate them on a regular basis. I rotate and balance my tires every 6000 miles and check my air pressure at every other fill up.

Diesel truck road racer... Did 90 minutes of laps in the rain, the fronts looked the same(trying to learn a new track) me tyres looked the same... Running to hard into turns, not enough air... new tires need a while to heat cycle to get a little harder... yes I had brand new tires....
yes the rotors were all blued.....pretty colour
