Strange noise - could use some advice
Okay, let me paint a picture...
2006 Dodge Ram diesel 2500, stock motor, stock tyranny, never as issue. Carli everything except lower ball joints, but those were redone when Carli installed the uppers. Recent had to replace the u joints in the rear, and outside the FULLY rusted reservoir on the Bilstein 2.65 right front shock, no issues ever... until now...
It sound like tire noise, can't tell which direction, front or rear, right or left. Tires are not loud tires, this isvsecond set and there is no unusual wear. It is not tied to motor RPM, only speed. Unless I try real hard to find one, there is no noticeable vibration. Now the catch. It starts to get noticeable around 45 and by 60 it is loud. The only thing that makes me think I know what the issue might be is when I turn right to change lanes or on an extended right curve on the freeway, the noise stops. That is the only time it stops, and it stops completely. Tire issues would not do that. Maybe alignment, maybe front left wheel bearing, probably not axle u joint or front drive shaft.
Before I jump into anything, would love to hear some opinions!
Thanks, let me know if more info is needed!

Actually it sounds like the front right wheel bearing. It is a sealed unit on 4 wheel drives and must be changed as a hub assembly. If you do one, it is best to do both. Also, if you are in there, you might as well change both axle U Joints while you are at it. Be sure to use greasable replacements as well.
