I believe DC went to the intake pumps cause they don't send metal and other junk into the CP3 when they fail. If you have the coin, spring for a FASS or Airdog. Supply a bit more fuel pressure and a bit more volume.

Factory replacements are none.... They retrofited them to the in tank unit. They did my truck at 23,000 or so miles under warranty. The factory intank unit is up around $650-750 for the kit. Way more than a raptor 100. With money tight I would go with the raptor. Or, you can wait until it dies and pay that 200-300 dollars in a tow bill.

That sounds normal. No codes showing up?

ok, so now its getting really bad and NEEDS to be fixed asap. i called a local diesel injection place...told him my situation, and he also thinks it's the injectors (and i made sure to not give any indication on the phone that i also thought it was an injector problem)

he said he would charge $200 for a leak down test, which includes taking every injector out and testing them individually.

should i just pay the $200 for a more "professional" test, or should i spend the $50 on the miller 9012 and 9011 tools to do the test myself?

My suggestion is to run it until it quits if you don't have the money. Save that money for the day you will need it. You already know what it more than likely is, just save up for it.

i have the money for some F1's, but i kinda would like to be 110% sure that my prolbem is my injectors before i dump almost $1,500 into some replacements.

Actually it is a little more. 1200 for the tips and inspection, 100 dollars for all injectors that need rebuilding if they are rebuildable. So around 1800 bucks to do them all. Don will test them and see which one's are problems while he has them. Get ahold of Lloyd at midatlanticdiesel.com. Also, Be careful, only used his authorized dealers on his website list. A few folks have told some stories to unknowing people and didn't get what they paid for. Hope this helps.

well i called the diesel injection place today to schedule an appointment, and i guess the guy i talked to on friday thought i had a 2nd gen 24v cummins. so they want $350 to do the test on my commonrail. needless to say, i just ordered the tools to do the test myself.

what are your thoughts/opinions on industrial injection injectors from performance diesel inc? they seem to have reasonably priced stock reman injectors
