Squeaky belt
My truck has 1300kms on it now and every time I start it when its cold the belt squeak, after it warms up it's fine. I thought about taking to the dealer but I'am sure they would do what any regular person would do, spray so lub on them, or take some house hold soap to it right?
I did a search on the forum and came up with nothing. Is it as simple as putting some lub on it? or should I take it in and get them to look at it?

try spraying some hair spray on it. if its slipping just a little this will tell by temporarily stoping the squeek. then get some belt dressing like Rpainter said. that not only has lube's in it, but things that make the belt stick to the pullys better. how it makes things stick and slip like that, i have no ideal

My belt squeeked from day one thanks to the high school drop out that worked in the detailing section. He sprayed "Liberally " the engine dressing=grime catcher all over everything, including the belt. The dealer replaced it for free, at least for me, not sure about the boys pay check!

Spraying crude on it makes it worse or at least a minor nightmare to clean the crude out.It eaither needs a new belt(I've seen some aftermarket belts squeak also) or has a ilder pully issue.See if the idler pully spring/tensioner is free to move and try a new quailty belt.
