Speed Control (Cruise Control) Vacuum Pump

Speed Control (Cruise Control) Vacuum Pump
I just had my Oil and Filter changed as well as the Fuel Filter today.
While driving the truck I heard what sounded like a motor cycling on and off about every minute. I tracked it down by sound to the electric vaccum pump for the cruise control . It is the small module that sits up in the top rear of the passenger side engine compartment.
This will cycle on and off even with the ignition switch in the run position and
the engine off. It is quite loud, sort of a roaring noise.
Something seems to be energizing this unit with the steering wheel switch for the cruise control turned off, also it is quite noisy.
At the moment I just pulled the electrical plug off the unit to keep it quiet.
I suspect something got knocked loose when they were accessing the oil filter or the fuel filter in the shop.
The truck has the automatic transmission.
Any ideas please????

Track the plastic hose down with rubber gromments. The line goes to the cruise control dashpot under the drivers side battery. Sounds like you have a leaky line.

Your were exactly correct... The plastic hose had been chafing for a while on another hose, when they replaced the fuel filter they must have disturbed it
enough to open the hose and the vacuum was lost.
Thanks so much for your reply and sharing your knowledge....
