smoke from blowby tube

i just put a helix 2 cam and sportmans springs in the truck. along with a new head. got everything put back together and when i started it up i noticed that theres now some kind of white smoke/haze coming from the blowby tube. there was water dripping out of it but that seemed to stop. the truck sat for about a month without the head on, could it just be condensation burning off ? oil is new, coolent is new and there not mixing anywhere. there was about a gallon or so of coolent that sat in the oil pan from when i pulled the head off. any suggestions?

I have witnessed something similar in other vehicles when head gaskets were done. Best thing to do is change the oil and filter again. You still have water where it is not supposed to be. Oil may be a little milky. What I have watch is people get in a hurry doing a head job and forget to drop the oil and drain the block of water. Most blocks have a coolant drain plug somewhere if the water will not go out during a radiator drain. Since the Cummins has a open breather port you noticed the steam.

changing the oil was the last step i did. oil only has about 10 miles on it. ill change it again and see if it clears the smoke up. anyone have any ideas how to get the coolent out of the block other than oil and coolent change which i just did after the head was put back on? any idea where this plug could be? thanks

The only help I can offer is that on JD tractors (at least the ones we run) the drain for the motor is on the side of the block, about middle ways both side to side and up and down.

This is prolly irellavent but it is also on the drivers side.

I know, I know this is prolly no help at all since it is a tractor but I guess it is a starting point.

Good luck
