Slight Delay for De-Throttle

On my 2007 5.9 Auto Mega Cab if I punch it hard and then take my foot off the pedal, there is a slight delay before the engine responds and throttles down. I haven't mentally put a time on it yet, but I am sure it is 1/2 second or more.

Definitely enough to get my attention if I have goosed it at a light or a tight place and it keeps going after releasing the pedal.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm not even sure it is a problem.

Thanks,
Bobby

its normal. A side effect of all hpcr engines. Some more noticeable than others, especially with a manual trans. It will "hover" before decellerating.

Its the torque management gradually reducing power to avoid shock loading the driveline.

Whatever the reason, I call it a "feature". I don't shift very fast, so that hang time helps promote smoother shifts for me.

it isnt torque management, TM is on accel. it is because when you punch it, the rail pressure jumps up to max, when you get out of it, it takes time for the fuel pressure to come down, hence the slower decel.
