silly question 5th or 6th

Any pros and cons on A 2003 3500 manual tranny, having a 5 speed or a 6 speed with 3.75 gear. What does the 6 speed give more of??/ Thanks I said silly question. Thanks for humoring me>.

the final drive ratio is the same between the 5 & 6 speeds. the benefit is the gear ratios are space closer together, giving you less of an rpm drop between gears. keeps the engine alittle better in the powerband.

You'll love the 6sp if you haul much weight and it's a stronger trans than the 5sp. Plus the 6sp will be with a HO instead of a SO. Craig
