Shuttle Shifting?--Try this!!!
Just wanted to see if I could be of any help to any of you who are experiencing this issue.
I have a 2006 Dodge 5.9/Auto with 12K miles on it now. At low acceleration it would have a tough time trying to figure out if it wanted to shift from 1st to 2nd (it would hesitate). Even sometimes from 2nd to 3rd. Anyway, they thought it was the Valve Body. Come to find out there was a Tech Bulletin on this very issue. Anyway, it is TSB#21-009-07. My truck runs like a completely different animal now. I believe the Tech Bulletin refers to a faulty governor switch of some sort. Someoe might correct me on that, but it fixed my problem.
I hope this helps!

The only way I found out that my governor solenoid needed replaced was by key off-on-off-on-off-on to get codes, and it is P1757 I think. I changed the solenoid and my shuttle shift was fixed. There seems to be a problem with governor solenoids acting up in these trucks. Mine is a 48RE...JMO so far so good...

I would just give the dealer a call and ask about the TSB. They should let you know if it is covered. IMO, it make the truck so much nicer to drive, it also helps my mileage. I had to power up to get through the hunting for gears. And of course everytime i would do that, i was chewing up diesel.
Let us know if it cures your problem.

The bulletin appliies to 04-07 w/out VIN or date splits. They list it as a hunt in 1st and 2nd under light throttle. Blame it on the governor solenoid. Talk to your dealer, especially the tech. If he's a good trans tech and not just a line tech, he will probably put in a transducer as well. These have tendency to fail as well. Sorry still don't know how to make a link. Any tutorials will be appeciated. dodgeram.info

I had the TSB done about 2 months ago. The shuttle shift is back, it just occurs around 15-20 mph instead of at 10 mph. I am going to take it back in when I get time. The tech did mention that too really fix it, the line pressure would have to be increased. That is not a DC covered issue. DTT's box will fix it, but you have to attach a couple of wires to the factory harness and that could void your warrantee unless you remove them when you go to the Dealer.

how much is the solenoid and how hard is it to put in i have a deductable on my truck and if its not that much i would rather do it myself. also would a shift kit also up the line pressure i have been looking into that option to.

any chance this fix makes it into a smarty like the high idle feature did? I know if you try a smarty from a friend, the high idle will stay behind when you take the smarty out.......... just a though from someone witha tranny that isn't sure if its first gear season, or second gear season..........................
