Should my truck bark the turbo between shifts with an auto trans??

Now that would make sense to me. I cannot see how you would get a bark if you are still on the throttle. Always was told you needed to let off the throttle so the boost has a path to revers turbo flow the other way.
If you were to hold throttle steady and lockup occurred I think you would make more boost from the added load of lockup. Check all clamps/hoses and make sure you are not losing boost somewhere...
