Shift pattern on shifter turned side ways

I'm not to sure about that one. I have noticed that on my truck the shifter **** slowly rotates all the way around. it takes about two months to complete the rotation. I think that it has something to do with the different phases of the moon.

It is not the shifter **** moving. It is the little button on the top. Pry it out, cut a few notches in it, and put it back in. I did this with mine very early on and it has only rotated 1/4 turn in almost 50k. Some guys glue it in, some live with it.

mine had rotated from 9-3 [clock position] to about 11-5 in like 6,000 kilometers. now i have a nicer feeling shift **** home made #2 billard ball... much more comfortable

Mine was about 90 degrees off when I bought the truck. I simply applied a twisting motion with my palm as I drove down the road, and in a few hundred miles it's now straight again.

Mine used to rotate, but I finally pried it out and put a dab of glue in the notch that it pops back into and popped it back in... Doesn't rotate anymore.. Just make sure to use something that can't cut the **** as you pry it out. I used a key..

Ok, I didn't know it was just a little button... I didn't fitz with it much.... I'll put some glue in there.

The "rotational shift device" is a feature included on the truck to help familiarize the driver with the truck's transmission. It seems that by having the piece inside the **** rotate, the driver comes to know the transmission "forwards and backwards". Such knowledge tends to reduce grinding gears and therefore makes the transmission last longer. Any adjustments made to this device could potentially void your warranty.
