seems to shake at idle more....
I have written about htis before and I always seem to notice a shake at idle and even sometimes at speed. Enough so that I notice a shaken appearence in my rear view mirror and it can be felt in the wheel. I would assume this could be an injector problem. Anyone else notice this? Is it normal for the common rail engine? I remember my 12 valves shake but it was a different kind of shake and seemed to be in time with the engine "clacking" almost as a knock. But this seems faster, a little more like a vibration or "buzzing" speed.

How long has it been since you changed the fuel filter? I was about 400 miles over my service interval, and I had the same issue. I changed the fuel filter and it ran as good as new.

I just changed the filter about 1000 miles ago. and it has done it for about 20,000 miles now and I have changed the filter many times, it does it no matter what. I also just had a new lift pump put in it (in-tank conversion at dealer) and they also changed the acuumulater valve on the injecter pump. They said it has pressure "within spec" now. I just wondered if anyone else noticed this or if my truck needs attention.

WOW you have my old problem to a T!! mirror shake and all! Mine turned out to be the number 1 Injector then 4 months later the number 3. Both times that same funny shake. If you have a laser temp light shoot each exhaust port and see what the temps are and most of the time the one that is about 15-20 deg different than the others will be the problem injector. Had to do it the old school way because the dodge dealer couldnt find the exact one. Funny I did. plus as long as it isnt the number 6 it is super easy to do yourself!!
